Two espresso mugs inspired by our own moon. Excellent for espresso shots with a special someone, or one for each hand, these handled mugs keep your fingers away from the hot contents.
The textured craters are carved by hand, and capture the Black Iron/Chrome stain that is used as an inlay. These mugs are not meant to duplicate exact lunar surfaces, but instead to represent how these surfaces feel when they are translated into clay in the form of a handcrafted, pottery mug. The inside of all of these mugs is glazed over with a deep black Oil Spot glaze; resembling the deep void of space.
This cup is 100% food and dishwasher safe, but be mindful of their size when placing them into your dishwasher.
Read about our moon and how surface moon craters' textures were formed over billions of years by reading this Wikipedia Post.
Read about the 9 mile wide (15km wide) Asteroid "243 Ida" that inspires my pottery textures, colors and shapes in this Wikipedia post.
