Moon Mugs are inspired by lunar and planetary surfaces and shapes. Vibrant color contrasts on circular, carved textures only come through hours of tedious work. Moon Mug interior glazes are also tediously applied with up to 5 different glazes, which must melt perfectly in order for each mug to be successfully finished. If the glazes turn out successfully, the colors will resemble those found in nebulae gas clouds, like those captured by NASA's Hubble Space Telescope. These mugs are not meant to duplicate exact lunar surfaces, but instead to represent how these surfaces feel when they are translated into clay in the form of a handcrafted, pottery mug. 

Total, each Moon Mug has between 5 and 8 layers of different glazes. They are unique, functional pieces of cosmic art that are truly out of this world.

Functional

All Moon Mugs are made from Porcelain clay and are 100% food and dishwasher safe.

Some Moon Mugs might not be microwaveable, because exterior colors come from metal colorants. On rare occasions, we have seen Cobalt colorant spark in a microwave like a fork or spoon. All Moon Mugs include instructions for testing your pottery in your microwave oven before use.
