Lunar Mugs are inspired by lunar and planetary surfaces and shapes. Vibrant color contrasts on the circular, carved textures only come through hours of painstaking work. Lunar Mug interior glazes are deep, glossy black, meant to imitate the vast blackness of space.
These mugs are not meant to duplicate exact lunar surfaces, but instead, represent how these surfaces feel when they are translated into clay in the form of a handcrafted, pottery mug.
All of our Stoneware and porcelain pottery is 100% food and dishwasher safe.
Read about our moon and how surface moon craters' textures were formed over billions of years by reading this Wikipedia Post.
Read about the 9 mile wide (15km wide) Asteroid "243 Ida" that inspires my pottery textures, colors and shapes in this Wikipedia post.
