Mugs ship July 30th, 2022 or earlier. Mugs vary slightly in color, and also in size between about 14-18oz. sizes, since Joel Cherrico is not a machine. But he will try to handcraft them around 16oz. sizes each. I'm sorry that we are not able to take custom size or color requests. Your mug needs to be chosen randomly from all inventory to maintain fairness. Each Neptune Mug is also slightly different and unique in shape and texture, with many various drips that are unpredictable. Please view all photos to get an understanding of the variety of shapes and slight texture design differences before you purchase, as we cannot predict or take requests for specific mug styles. Please only purchase this if you are excited about the surprise of getting one of these unique mugs. Your Neptune Mug will also ship in bubble wrap and air pillows, double boxed in two cardboard boxes.
Taste the Universe everyday from one of the most intricate mugs on the planet.
Neptune Mugs are inspired by the sideways gasses spinning around the blue Planet Neptune. They are so incredibly difficult to craft because two mugs must hang sideways in the 2280 degree F. kiln firing, counterbalanced, with all glazes melting perfectly together.
Vibrant color contrasts on circular, slowly crafted mugs only come through hours of tedious work. Interior colors are also tediously applied with up to 5 different glazes, which must melt perfectly in order for each mug to be successfully finished and 100% food safe. If the glazes turn out successfully, the colors will resemble those found in on Neptune, inspired by the 1989 photo by NASA's Voyager 2 Satellite.
These mugs are not meant to duplicate exact cosmic surfaces, but instead to represent how these surfaces feel when they are translated into clay in the form of a handcrafted, pottery mug.
They are unique, functional pieces of cosmic art that are truly out of this world.
All Cosmic Mugs are made from Stoneware or Porcelain clay and are 100% non-toxic and food safe.
