Every "Cosmic Mug" is unique, with colorful glazes that are inspired by images of galaxies from NASA's Hubble Space Telescope. World-renowned potter Joel Cherrico worked with a factory to design mugs with remarkably complex glazes, based on ancient Chinese glaze chemistry over 1,000 years old.

Joel Cherrico started working with a factory to design a version of his most popular "Handmade Spiral Cosmic Mug" but for lower prices, higher quantities, and equal quality.
Factories can make tons more mugs, literally: up to 10,000 mugs in a single month, which takes Joel 2 years to make by hand. These mugs are made in the one place in the world that has been perfecting the art of mass producing pottery for over 1,000 years: a city called Shenzhen, near Hong Kong, China.

Most products shouldn't be made in China. But for pottery, the Chinese have mastered the art of mass producing porcelain. It's about quality. The Chinese people are simply better at making this type of mug than anywhere else on planet Earth.
Every Chinese-made pot is marked on the bottom, "Made in China" directly underneath the Cherrico Pottery logo, to guarantee there is no confusion between mugs "Made in China" and mugs handcrafted by Joel Cherrico.
